Two Systems, One Page

Starter Quests are a one-time onboarding chain for new players — city-funded rewards to help you find your footing. Public Contracts are ongoing jobs posted by the Town Council that any player can complete for money, on demand, all the time.

Starter Quests — “First Week in ProsperitySMP”

Every new player has access to a six-quest onboarding chain. Quests are posted on the bulletin board at Town Hall. Complete them in order, at your own pace.

Quest 1 — Welcome Aboard

Objective: Visit Town Hall and pick up your Welcome Packet from the chest near the entrance.

Reward: Iron pickaxe, iron axe, 8× bread, $10 city stipend

The iron tools get you past wooden gear immediately. The Welcome Packet chest is restocked by staff — if it’s empty, message an admin.

Quest 2 — Pick a Trade

Objective: Join a job using /jobs join <jobname>.

Use /jobs browse to see all six options: Miner, Farmer, Builder, Woodcutter, Hunter, Fisher.

Reward: $25 city stipend + a job starter kit

JobStarter Kit
Miner64× torches, 1× bucket
Farmer1× hoe, 64× wheat seeds, 16× bone meal
Builder32× stone, 32× oak planks, 1× shovel
Woodcutter1× extra iron axe, 4× oak saplings
Hunter1× iron sword, 16× arrows, 1× bow
Fisher1× fishing rod

Quest 3 — First Shift

Objective: Earn $50 in job wages — the direct cash from your job, not item sales.

Reward: $50 city stipend, 1× City Work Permit (collectible)

This takes 15–30 minutes depending on your job. The Work Permit is a cosmetic collectible — it has no mechanical function, but it’s yours.

Quest 4 — Sell Something

Objective: Make any sale — to the admin shop or to another player.

Reward: $35 city stipend

The admin shop is the price floor, not the target. Selling to other players earns more. This quest introduces both options.

Quest 5 — Take a Contract

Objective: Complete one public contract using the /deliver command (see the next section).

Reward: The stated contract payout + $25 city completion bonus + 1× City Commendation

The Commendation is a cosmetic collectible at launch. Future updates may use commendation count as a gate for higher-tier contracts.

Quest 6 — Stake Your Claim

Objective: Rent a residential plot or a market stall.

Reward: First week’s rent waived (city covers it as a settlement bonus) + welcome sign kit

A plot is a reason to log back in.

Public Contracts — The Contract Board

The Town Hall Contract Board has 12 standing contracts you can fulfill any time. Bring the requested items, run /deliver <id>, and the city pays you on the spot. No admin verification needed — it’s all automated.

Contracts are bonus income, not your main income

Contracts pay above the admin floor — better than dumping to the server — but below player market peaks. They give you steady supplementary income with daily caps to prevent farming. Use them between bigger projects, or chain them while leveling.

How to Use the Contract Board

  1. Visit the Contract Board outside Town Hall
  2. Read the sign for the contract you want
  3. Make sure the items are in your inventory
  4. Run /deliver <id> — for example, /deliver coal64
  5. The city takes the items and pays you instantly

Other useful commands:

  • /contracts — list all contracts available
  • /contractinfo <id> — show full details for one contract (including your cooldown and daily count)

Maximum Daily Income from the Board

If you fully clear every contract every day, the daily cap totals:

TierTotal contracts availableTheoretical max payout
Cobble/Stone (high cap)20 fills$1,300
Wood/Coal/Wool/Torch30 fills$2,800
Food15 fills$1,400
Iron/Diamond (high value)7 fills$1,400
Total daily cap~72 fills~$6,900/day

This is a hard ceiling. The board is for steady income, not unlimited grinding.

Construction Contracts — Staff-Verified

Bigger physical builds — paths, fences, signage — are posted separately and verified by staff after completion.

IDContractRequiredPayout
C-08Path Paving: Market District~200 blocks, staff-directed$200
C-09Agricultural District Fencing~300 fence blocks, materials provided$175
C-10Town Signage8 signs at staff-marked posts, signs provided$80

For Skilled Builders: Government Commissions

The contracts above are the entry tier for the Builder career. Players who consistently deliver quality work on these smaller commissions are invited to bid on government commissions — major civic landmarks, expansion districts, and the planned dungeon zone on the mountain. These are negotiated directly with the server owner. Pay is per-project and scales with scope — $10,000+ is realistic for high-skill builds.

City contracts include materials — you’re paid for labor and design. Private builds (for other players, on their plots) are a separate market and materials are between you and the client.

Contract Tiers

TierTime InvestmentPayout Range
Contract Board (automated)A few minutes per /deliver$50–$200 per fill
Beginner Construction~30 min$80–$200
Standard Construction1–2 hours$200–$600

InfrastructureMultiple sessions$1,500–$5,000 + title/naming rights
Government Commission (Builder, invite-only)Multi-session, owner-directed$10,000+ negotiated

Tier 2+ contracts will be added over time as the board matures. Government commissions are a Builder-specific track — the server owner invites high-quality builders directly.
